Stixx Malone

After travelling the world to find the perfect drum role, Stixx settled with a team of Atlanta cheerleaders for several years, but after one drum stick too many he joined The Marine Corps. After 3 years of playing Taps enough was enough and he sailed to the UK in search of a new life and found The Chinewrde Marching Band.

Stixx now lives on a converted coal barge and enjoys listening to his large collection of Bert Kaempfert records.

  1. Stixx here.... 17 hours straight rehearsal yesterday in a secret location in the Midlands. God, damn we sounded good, we just need to be all playing the same song at the same time and we'll be ready for the Kenilworth Carnival.

We're use to exhaustion, it goes with the territory along with the obvious injuries, chapped lips, cracked batons and a couple of broken legs.

Playlist is dandy though I miss those old US military tunes.

Today I'm soaking in an oak and dandelion fused hot tub and later I'll be re-tuning my snare.

  2. Icing my fingers, we had a smokin' band practice today for the upcoming Kenilworth Carnival, the best carnival this side of the Mid-Lands! My drum sticks are still on fire!
The brass section has tightened up and the percussionist is driven by some kind of rhythmic demon.
There was a little 'in fighting'/competitive edge which was soon sorted by a few lashings with a baton but on the whole we good-to-go.
There is something good about this band and I don't just mean the music.......reminds of 1942 when I was leading snare in Atlanta city, but that's another story.
